Ciarán Heaphey Local Election Launch, Feb 21st

7.30PM, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST, PARNELLS GAA CLUBHOUSE, COOLOCK.

Ciarán Heaphy is the Éirígí representative for the Whitehall / Artane Local Electoral Area. In May he will be standing on behalf of Éirigí for election to Dublin City Council.

Ciarán has been a political and community activist for close to thirty years. Since the last local elections in 2014, Ciarán has worked tirelessly to advance the interests of the communities of Artane, Kilmore, Coolock, Priorswood and Darndale. Some of the key campaigns and other initiatives that Ciarán has helped organise over the last five years include:

  • The campaign to defeat the Water Tax

  • Community solidarity with the Greyhound workers

  • Together For Yes to repeal the 8th amendment

  • A community response to home burglaries

  • Community-based free Irish language classes

  • Regular historical talks

  • Promoting a new system of Universal Public Housing

  • Resisting the privatisation of public transport

Few other candidates in the upcoming local election can match Ciarán’s work rate or track record of consistent selfless work on behalf of the community and the wider struggle to build a New Republict that will truly cherish all the children of the nation equally.

Ciarán and Cathaoirleach Éirígí Brian Leeson will be speaking at the launch on February 21st. The launch is open to all and free of charge to attend. Come along to hear more about Éirígí’s vision for a better Dublin and for a New Republic.
