éirígí’s national executive is known as An Ciorcal Náisiúnta.
Each year the general membership elect the following national positions to An Ciorcal Náisiúnta – (An Cathaoirleach (Chair), Leas Chathaoirleach (Vice-Chair), An Rúnaí Ginearálta. (General Secretary), Cisteoirí (Treasurers)x 2, An tOifigeach Caidrimh Phoiblí (Public Relation Officer), An tOifigeach Ballraíochta (Membership Officer) and An tOifigeach Gaeilge (Irish Language Officer).
The Cathaoirleach (Chairperson) of each Ciorcal Áitiúil (local branch), who are elected on an annual basis, are also members of An Ciorcal Náisiúnta.
All elections to the above party positions are conducted on a ‘one member, one vote’ basis. In the interests of further democratic control Bunreacht éirígí (the party constitution) also includes a mechanism for the recall at any time of those who have been elected to hold party positions.
An Ciorcal Náisiúnta can also co-opt a maximum of four additional members.
Our current Cathaoirleach is Brian Leeson (Dublin), Leas-Chathaoirleach Rab Jackson (Belfast) and Breandán Mac Cionnaith (Runaí Ginearálta).
