"US Military Out Of Shannon Now!"

"US Military Out Of Shannon Now!"

On Sunday the 14th of April, Éirígí activists braved the conditions and joined hundreds of others at Shannon Airport in County Clare, to protest the Dublin government’s policy of allowing the United States military to use the airport as a stop-off point on their way to unleash mayhem and murder across the world.

The protest was organised by the Peace and Neutrality Alliance (PANA), the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC), and Shannonwatch - the organisers of the long-running monthly protest at Shannon Airport.

Éirígí activists carry a banner demanding that the US military gets out of Shannon Airport.

The specific call to action at this protest was directed at the Dublin government, calling on them to end Irish complicity in Apartheid Israel's genocide of the Palestinian people by way of allowing the US military to use Shannon Airport.

Two young Éirígí activists block a road along with Frankie Quinn of the 1916 Societies.

The US war machine plays a significant role in the ongoing genocide in Palestine, as it is almost certain that at least some of the weaponry they give to the forces of Apartheid Israel passes through Shannon Airport first.

Since 2002, millions of US soldiers have passed through Shannon Airport, using it as a forward operating base, making a mockery of the supposed ‘neutrality’ of the Twenty-Six County state.

Éirígí activists and members of the 1916 Societies carry a joint banner calling for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador.

As anti-imperialists, Éirígí are staunchly opposed to the use of Shannon Airport by the US military.

Éirígí are totally against any part of Ireland being used to assist US imperialism and their allies, Apartheid Israel in particular.  End Irish complicity in genocide now!
