Éirígí Ard Fheis 2019 Report And Photo Gallery
Dozens of Éirígí activists, supporters and comrades from other organisations attended the 2019 Éirígí Ard Fheis on Saturday (January 19th). The event was held in the Communications Workers Union head offices on the North Circular Road in Dublin. The day was divided into a morning session which dealt with internal party business and an afternoon session which included three guest speakers, open floor discussions and a keynote address by Cathaoirleach Éirígí Brian Leeson.
The guest speakers were Senán Mac Aoidh from the Irish language group Misneach, John Douglas the General Secretary of the MANDATE trade union and Cat Wiener from the London-based housing group Focus E15. Video’s of each of the speakers will be published on this website over the coming days. A selection of photos from the Ard Fheis are published below.
Speaking in relation to the Ard Fheis, Cathaoirleach Éirígí Brian Leeson said, “We are very happy with the Ard Fheis, particularly the quality of the guest speakers and the open discussions that followed each contributor. I’d like to thank our organising committee, our guest speakers, the CWU staff and everyone that came along on the day.
As a party Éirígí is now more politically coherent and focused than it has ever been. Over the last two years we have put in place the internal party structures, the funding streams and a strategy that will allow us to accelerate the development of the socialist republican movement that will be needed to effectively challenge the chaos of capitalism. In addition to the Ard Fheis, this week also saw the launch of an excellent new Éirígí website, which will play a major role in spreading the radical republican message. I would encourage anyone that is interested in the joining the fight for the New Republic to get in touch with us through the website today.”
