Éirígí Launches Ireland's First Interactive Vulture Landlord Tracking Map
Éirígí for a New Republic today launched Ireland’s first and only interactive map that tracks the vulture landlord takeover of Irish housing. The map is the latest element of the #TrackTheVulture project which Éirígí launched in late 2020. You can access the map at the link at the bottom of this article.
At the time of writing the #TrackTheVultures map pinpoints 14,332 Irish homes that are now owned by vulture landlords from Britain, the US, Canada, Germany, Holland, Israel and Ireland.
These 14,332 homes - a mixture of apartments and houses - are spread across almost 90 individual developments in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Kildare.
Each housing development is geolocated and marked on the interactive map with a vulture icon. When users click on the icon a photograph of the development is displayed along with information relating to the size of the development and the vulture landlord that owns it.
Over the coming weeks additional vulture landlord owned housing developments will be added to the #TrackTheVultures, so check back regularly to see the full extent of the corporate takeover of Irish housing.
Éirígí is leading Éirígí is leading the fight against the vulture takeover of Irish housing. Our #TrackTheVultures project is providing the Irish public with more information about the takeover than any government agency, media outlet, academic group, housing organisation or political party.
We're fighting for a housing revolution that will end the rule of the land-speculators, developers, landlords and their gombeen political fixers - a housing revolution that will deliver affordable, secure housing for all through a new system of Universal Public Housing.
