Misneach To Address Éirígí Ard Fheis 2019
Senán Mac Aoidh will provide an update on the recent campaigning work of Misneach, the Irish language group, which is organising across Ireland. Senán, a native of Co Monaghan, has been a key activist in Misneach since it was founded. His contribution will be followed by Q&A and an open floor discussion.
Irish language activists were, of course, a central component of the revolutionary movement that led to the establishment of Dáil Éireann, which sat for the first time one hundred years ago this month.
It is therefore fitting that a representative from a radical language group should join us to mark that centenary and discuss the steps that we collectively need to take to establish a new Republic worthy of the name.
The afternoon session of our 2019 Ard Fheis takes place this Saturday, January 19th in the headquarters of the Communication Workers Union on the North Circular Road in Dublin from 2pm - 5pm.
Other speakers include John Douglas, General Secretary of MANDATE, Cat Wiener of the London-based housing campaign Focus E15 and Brian Leeson of Éirígí.
