At midday on May 17th the British Head of State, aka the ‘British Queen’, will touch down at Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel on the outskirts of Dublin City. From there she will be taken by road to Áras an Uachtaráin in the Phoenix Park for an official welcome and a tree planting ceremony.

On Saturday [April 16], up to 150 people joined Éirígí’s latest protest against the upcoming state visit by Britain’s Elizabeth Windsor. The protest which took place in front of the historic GPO on Dublin’s O’Connell Street included a piece of street theatre which saw ‘Elizabeth Windsor’ beheaded in a French revolution-style guillotine.

On May 17, the Dublin government will parade the commander-in-chief of the British army through the streets of Dublin.

As the controversial itinerary for the upcoming state visit by Elizabeth Windsor is revealed, Éirígí have announced the details of their latest protest against that same visit.

Reacting to the announcement of the itinerary of the Elizabeth Windsor state visit, cathaoirleach Éirígí Brian Leeson has said that the visit is designed to “rub salt in the wounds of the victims of British violence in Ireland”.
