Gaza Flotilla Attacked Again By Apartheid Israel
Last night, a drone sent by the Apartheid state of Israel, struck the Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) while it was docked in the Tunisian port of Sidi Bou Said.
The flotilla, which is aiming to break the siege on Gaza, bringing humanitarian aid to those suffering through the Gaza Genocide while doing so, set sale from Barcelona at the end of August, made up of 50 boats, with over 300 Palestine solidarity onboard the vessels.
But given Apartheid Israel’s track record of attacking these aid flotillas, it was always going to be a matter of when, not if, the forces of the genocidal state would strike the Global Sumud Flotilla.
Launched by the Free Gaza Movement in 2008, the Flotilla Movement has launched dozens of ships aimed at breaking the siege on Gaza in the last seventeen years, all of which have been attacked and raided by Apartheid Israel.

In 2010, the forces of Apartheid Israel raided the MV Mavi Marmara, a ship belonging to the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, executing ten Turkish Palestine solidarity activists and wounding dozens more in the process.
In the last four months, as the Gaza genocide has ramped up, three Flotillas have been launched. In May, one of the ships belonging to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) was struck by an Israeli drone off the coast of Malta, forcing the Flotilla to postpone their mission.
In July, the reorganised Flotilla was attacked and raided by the forces of Apartheid Israel while in international waters, with the activists onboard being abducted and subsequently used as a propaganda tool by the genocidal state.
The struggle against colonialism and imperialism is, by it's very nature, an internationalist struggle. Like the people of Ireland, the Palestinians have also suffered greatly at the hands of British imperialism. And today they continue to suffer at the hands of US-backed Israeli aggression.
We in Éirígí #ForANewRepublic commend those risking life and liberty in opposition to the genocide being perpetrated in Gaza by Benjamin Netanyahu’s Apartheid state of Israel. Éirígí stands with the Palestinian people and supports them in their fight for national freedom.
