In the early hours of this morning, the United Stages attacked Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, and have reportedly kidnapped president Nicolás Maduro.
Éirígí proudly stands in solidarity with the Venezuelan people and the Bolivarian Revolution against the brutal attack by the US.
The US has for decades worked to overthrow and undermine any government in Latin America who refuses to toe its line. The Maduro government is just the latest in a long-line of democratically elected administrations to fall afoul of US imperialism.
Éirígí activists joined scores of others on Dublins Ha’penny Bridge to protest against this mornings attack by the United States on Venezuela and the kidnapping of democratically elected Venezuelan President, Nicolás Maduro.
The ‘opposition’ in Venezuela have never respected a democratic election result since Hugo Chavez’s election in 1998, they never have and they never will!
We should take no lessons from Donald Trump, or the right-wing opposition in Venezuela about democracy. They have from the outset attempted to overthrow and undermine the democratic Bolivarian revolution.
